  • The rock carvings indicate a mixed economy, with hunting and pastoral scenes and only a few agrarian scenes. (See ROCK CARVINGS in the Cherchen / Qiemo page.) In the burials at Zaghunluq, the artifacts, including saddles and the heads and forelegs of horses, are strong indications that these were pastoral people, living by herding cattle, sheep, and horses.
