  • I am not sure what the efficiency of the cheap crap PSUs are but it would not surprise me if they are around 70% or even less at certain ranges especially the lower ranges e.g. 20-50% (where your computer is likely to be most of the time) which means more heat and more power used (i.e. more cost to you). [8] says 72% for one cheap PSU but does not specify at what output.
