  • At 506 nm, hemoglobin, oxyhemoglobin (HbO2) and carbon monoxide hemoglobin absorb to substantially the same extent, whereas, at 600 nm, there is a considerable difference between on the one hand the absorption by hemoglobin and on the other hand the absorption by oxyhemoglobin+carbon monoxide hemoglobin, the two latter absorbing to substantially the same extent at this wave length.
