NIV (emphasis mine) Verse 29, is a direct quote from ( Deuteronomy 4:24 ) where Moses warns the people about idolatry and we find he then says ??? For the Lord your God is a consuming fire and a jealous God.??? It is interesting that the writer to the Hebrews picks up this verse and drops it into the setting of worship as a warning to the Church.
