  • The published schedule says the Red Line's most frequent headways are 4.5 minutes, and I have seen people saying that if the downtown block layout was redone, they could run more frequent service.(I do wonder how fast trains could turn around at Alewife if they really tried to run 3 minute headways on the northern part of the system, though.
