The 13-bit sequence can be considered an untagged set vector in that the sequence is a bit map of the twelve 10/100 ports and the 1000 Mb/s uplink port; for example, if a bit corresponding to port n is set, port n is a member of the untagged set for this VLAN. Accordingly, frames that are transmitted out from port n will not have a VLAN tag header for that particular VLAN.
