  • One of the problems is that, from my experience, people do not know there is an alternative to PCP vs. ED. In many areas there are such things as urgent care walk-in clinics that are open on off hours (though not 24) like the weekends... where you can get treatment for stuff that needs immediate attention but that is not serious enough to warrant a trip to the ED.
