  • if i was buying one myself, i would get a 99.5-2003 7.3. they are very reliable and have plenty of power, and handle modifications very well. the most common problems with them are cam sensors failing, injectors failing, water pumps seem to last about 100-150,000 miles, and the harnesses for the injectors under the valve covers sometimes have the clip weaken and they will come partially disconnect
