  • Yes, Wilbrod, 14 and eight is correct: the AP Style Manual and many others use the nine-and-under, 10-and-over rule: spell out nine and under even in a mixed use. (There are a few exceptions, such as sports scores, etc.) The &%#$@#$ GPO book I have to work with every day has a rule so complex it takes seven pages (I kid you not) to explain it, and I have had to memorize the entire thing.
