  • The dry adiabatic lapse rate (DALR) gives us the stability boundary for lapse rate???That is, any lapse rate larger than this is unstable to convection; any lapse rate lower than this is stable. [I never specifically addressed the issue of whether convection is assumed or used in the derivation because I don???t see how that question is relevant or even what it means exactly.
