  • ConclusionIn this paper, we have provided an update on the various genetic rat models of PD. Although there is considerable variability among the studies reviewed in terms of the types of genes and techniques used, most of these models revealed a progressive and significant, albeit modest, loss of TH-positive neurons in the SNpc.
