  • In my opinion, if you would like to keep it as pure as possible then all you fundamentally need is a function that generates a random integer of n - uniformly distributed - digits (or bits - which unit you choose is a tradeoff between putting the digit/bit conversion stuff into the random engine or elsewhere in the code) for arbitrary n, which makes the integer uniformly distributed between 0 and D^
