| http://www.w3.org/ns/prov#value | - I know that feeling about the industrial sublime, but I think Caro???s The Power Broker (about Robert Moses and the changes wrought upon New York City) cured me of ever being able to argue on behalf of such landscapes as good in ways that reach much beyond personal existential development (granted that is a good thing, but not the only thing, as you seem to suggest in other comments).
