  • Linux by defaut partions your hard drive so that you have all your system files on a root partition (eg c:/) and all your installed applications, documents, and other personal data, on a home partions (eg d:/) Sooo if Somthing ever does go completly wrong with the OS, I can format only the system or Root partion, reinstall linux, and I have no lost files.
