  • This course will examine the music and cultures of the Caribbean including such genres as bachata and merengue (Dominican Republic), calypso and steel pan (Trinidad), rara and konpa (Haiti), son and canci??n (Cuba), reggae (Jamaica), zouk (Martinique and Guadeloupe, and Latin jazz and salsa, which were developed by Spanish-Caribbean immigrants to the United States.
