  • AVCHD is the best choice if your primary output is going to be directly to a HD television, but Motion JPEG will be easier for many computers to read, particularly if they are more than a couple of years old. (As you can see from the table above, though, Motion JPEG files take up quite a bit more space for a given pixel resolution.)
