  • Thankfully, the distinction between the two words is extremely vague, so while my initial impulse was to agree with joe, people who do not understand the intention of the two words (affect would mean a persona or an attempt at effecting a situation, while effect is what we mean when we say that something has happened as a result of something else), apparently, affect is a noun and effect is a verb
