  • Captus is declined like an adjective, but even when used absolutely, i.e. not as part of a periphrastic perfect, it has relative tense, in the sense that it is anterior to the main verb, just as the future active participle capturus is posterior to the main verb and the present active participle capiens is simultaneous with the main verb.
