| http://www.w3.org/ns/prov#value | - now this is just conjecture but, i'mma hazard the guess that the main market for altos lies in the college age (and a bit beyond) (the old fogeys having been using *nix so long they feel no desire to change) demographic and to most kids in college or fresh out of it any money is a lot of money, especially when the return value is uncertain.
