  • The proper voltage to charge a 9.6v NiMh battery is really very close to 12v. As soon as you put any sort of load on the battery, the voltage will come right down to 9.6v. As a comparison, a car battery is rated for 12v. But when fully charged, you will see 14.4v across the terminals.
