I went to the French ???cantine??? for almost fifteen years as a kid, and I have to tell you that there is really nothing to envy there, except for : 1) the fact that it is undoubtedly less of a hassle for parents, 2) the social part that was mentioned above: sitting down together at a table, eating in a proper plate, etc.
