| http://www.w3.org/ns/prov#value | - I agree with that, I feel like an operating system truly is a platform, and I feel like a distro is just a bunch of software that you can run, and use to install more software from another piece of software, for about a year or so, and then you need to update to the newest version before the one you are on is out of date (unless you are running an LTS or something, hopefully you understand me.)
