  • My understanding is that <header> is a more general-purpose grouping of things that might belong in the heading, such as author, date, categories, breadcrumbs, buttons labelled ???Delete??? or ???I Like This???, and so on. <hgroup>is much more specific, grouping a title, optional subtitle and potentially other title-like fields.
