(1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this Rule, passenger ships and other ships of not less than 500 tons gross tonnage which are intended, or which contain cargo spaces which are intended, for the carriage of dangerous goods on international voyages shall comply with the protective requirements prescribed in paragraphs (4) to (12) of this Rule and the tables at the end of this Rule.
