(Yes, I have tried, I have taught grades K-4 at least briefly as my mother is a teacher and I often help out in her classroom.) I also have a temper (which I can control far, far better these days and knowing the cause of something/being more self-aware helps a LOT -- most people these days do not even realize I get angry -
