  • No. The key word is average, i.e. take the capacity factors into account. 1.5GW of solar power with a capacity factor of 15-20% is 225-300MW. To achieve 2GW, we could add that much solar, 1GW of wind, 500MW of geothermal and still be looking for another >700MW of other renewable energy such as hydro, wave and tidal power.
