  • If both you and your spouse havecompensation and are under age 70??, each of you can set up anIRA. You cannot both participate in the same IRA. There are limits and other rules that affect the amount that canbe contributed to a traditional IRA. The most that can be con-tributed to one or more traditional IRAs in a year is $3,000 for 2003and 2004, $4,000 for 2005, 2006, and 2007, and then $5,000.
