| http://www.w3.org/ns/prov#value | - I think this is because most of the proponents have been liberal (certainly here in the US, the biggest proponent is a liberal) and conservatives are reacting to the solutions to AGW which generally are wealth redistribution schemes which go under various names such as Carbon Trading/Taxing/Caps.
