  • If a photon from that galaxy has actually been travelling for 13.7 billion years (which is gauged by the Hubble redshift of the photon, making further assumptions), and the galaxy is purportedly very young, it is hard to imagine any implication other than the idea that the big bang actually expanded space far faster than light speed, but then slowed or stopped.
